CSBA AEC 2025: Strengthening Student Wellness Throughout California
Last week, the TadHealth team had the privilege of joining district leaders, board members, and community partners at the California School Boards Association’s Annual Education Conference & Trade Show in Sacramento. The energy, vision, and commitment to student wellness in every conversation were truly inspiring.
Thank You for Stopping By
Thank you to every superintendent, board member, and school leader who took a moment to connect with us at our booth. Whether you are just beginning to learn about the Children & Youth Behavioral Health Initiative (CYBHI) or already submitting claims, your insights shape how we continue to support districts in building sustainable wellness systems.
CYBHI is California’s major investment in school-based mental health, opening a new ongoing funding stream so districts can expand early intervention and care at no cost to families. It was clear throughout the conference that momentum is growing, and districts statewide are ready to strengthen student support with sustainable resources behind them.

What CYBHI Makes Possible
We met with leaders at every stage of the journey:
- Exploring what CYBHI is and how it works
- Building infrastructure to launch services
- Submitting claims and securing reimbursement
Districts on TadHealth are already proving what’s possible. In just 4 months, Anaheim Elementary School District has generated more than $800,000 in CYBHI reimbursements, reinvesting directly into student wellness.
That progress gives us hope and a roadmap for other districts preparing to follow.
Why Sustainable Funding Matters
School teams are already doing the work:
- Case management
- Counseling and wellness services
- Prevention programming
- Mental health assessments
CYBHI simply ensures those services are funded sustainably, not reliant on temporary grants or one-time dollars.
Every superintendent we met shared the same desire: to strengthen student support without compromising budgets or overburdening staff. CYBHI is designed to deliver exactly that.
Building Community in Sacramento
Outside the exhibit hall, we enjoyed opportunities to connect with leaders shaping the future of K-12 mental health funding and care. These conversations reinforce that California is entering a new era of coordinated school-based behavioral health.
Looking Ahead
We left Sacramento energized and grateful. The work happening across California is bold, student-centered, and long overdue, and TadHealth is proud to be a partner in helping districts unlock these dollars and empower the people who care for our students every day.
